Banana Cardamom Ice Cream

This might be a little strange to you, but I always have frozen bananas in the fridge 🙂

If I get hungry in the evening while watching something on Netflix ( “Brooklyn Nine Nine”, it is hilarious!!),  I would then cut one frozen banana into pieces, pour some milk over it and add cardamom.  I just love the taste of it!

So I thought I give this combination a try as an ice cream.  If you have the frozen bananas ready like I do, you have an ice cream in no time.

This is them, the last two frozen bananas and they going to be mixed with some cold cream, cardamom, vanilla and chocolate-nut cream for extra creaminess:

Banana Cardamom Ice Cream Ingredients

Cut the bananas and put all ingredients into the blender:

Blend until totaly creamy (for about 5-10′):

Pour into container and freeze for about 4 hours or enjoy it directly as a Semifreddo.

Makes 4 small scoops of ice cream:

  • 2 frozen ripe bananas
  • 100 ml (3.5 oz) cream or full-fat coconut milk from the fridge. (I used full-fat coconut milk)
  • 1/4 tsp vanilla extract
  • one or two pinches of ground cardamom
  • 1 tsp of chocolate-nut cream with at least 40% nut content (I used choco-hazelnut cream with 45% hazelnuts)
